Cda Firefighters Help
Last Updated:
The following is a official email that we received about the CDA Firefighters and how one can help them directly.
Hello!
We're reaching out to you, our supporters and partners, over the recent events that have happened on Canfield Mountain, culminating in the loss of life of two of our brave Battalion Chiefs, Harwood & Morrison, and the critical injury of Firefighter/Engineer Tysdal.
Immediately upon hearing, we mobilized to set up with food and drinks for those who responded to the incident, and to the hospital to see what needs the families might have. We opened up an official drop off location for pre-packaged food and beverages, not knowing how long the incident would last, and you all showed up in force. All of the command posts and stations were fully stocked.
Longer term, we have set up official donation accounts in the names of each of the 3 families at First Interstate Bank, as well as have direct donations on our website.
This email is to let all of you know of the ways that we know of currently to best help our first responders, both the families of the fallen and injured, and our first responder community as a whole while they grieve and start to heal.
We appreciate everyone who contacted us to see about physical volunteer needs at the onset.
Monetary Donations:
- You can walk into any local branch of First Interstate Bank and donate directly to the accounts. Just mention the "Canfield Incident". You'll have the choice of donating to all 3 affected families equally or choosing an individual account to donate to.
- You can donate securely online on our website - redbluefoundation.org/
donations . The same choices apply to the online donations in terms of how you donate. You can also choose to donate to our mental health fund or general fund for ongoing support of those first responders involved in the incident, who were not necessarily physically injured. We appreciate any support given in those ways, as the needs vary greatly when an incident occurs, and having a reserve we can pull from to meet those needs is imperative.
Fundraisers:
- There are a variety of fundraisers popping up, with proceeds going directly to our foundation to benefit these families. Please beware of unofficial or possibly spam fundraisers, and feel free to reach out to us at hello@redbluefoundation.org if you have any questions about the validity of the events taking place. We're happy to answer any questions or confirm an event if we have details of it. Fundraisers that we've partnered with or talked with to coordinate details will be posted on our social media pages and we're working on getting a calendar link with them all listed with times/dates/locations for our supportive community. Please follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see more details on those. A few of the events include custom apparel pre-orders designed by a local firefighter who worked with the fallen, benefits concerts, and an upcoming special release brewery series, among others.
Raffle Items:
- We have upcoming events on the schedule where we fundraise for exactly these situations. Many of you have attended our Golf Tournament at Avondale or the Highlands Golf Course, or our inaugural Gala this past winter. We have raffle tables set up with donated items from people and area businesses to bring in more funds.
If you'd like to donate a raffle item to be used at one of our events, please use Anchored Coffee Company at 451 W. Dalton Avenue in Coeur d'Alene as a drop off point for your baskets and items during regular business hours. We ask that you include your contact information, social media accounts if applicable for a business, a description of the basket, and estimated value.Events:
- For our events, we have sponsorship opportunities available. Registration for sponsorships for our golf tournament on August 22nd is currently open and available sponsorships are listed at auctria.events/redbluegolf. Team registrations are currently sold out.
- Information and registration for our annual Gala - A Night in Monte Carlo, happening January 31st, 2026, will be released in just a few short weeks. (Faster if possible). We'll send another email once that opens.
